Stéphanie Guérin
Mezzo-sopranoYoung mezzo-soprano Stéphanie Guérin studied with Maria Diaconu at the Haute École de Musique de Genève, in Geneva, Switzerland, where she graduated with a soloist Master's degree in 2019.
In 2018, she made her debut under the baton of maestro Joshua Weilerstein at the Opéra de Lausanne, in Così fan Tutte's major role of Dorabella, in a production staged by Jean Liermier.
Stéphanie's ever-increasing passion for singing started at a very young age at the Notre-Dame de Paris Children's Choir, but she studied engineering before deciding to move towards a career in music.
During her time at the conservatoire, she has interpreted the title role in Cole Porter's Kiss me Kate, under the direction of Nader Abassi, in a production by Christian Räth; as well as Ruggiero, in Haendel's Alcina, at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, directed by Willem Wentzel and staged by Philipp Himmelmann. Under the batons of Leonardo Garcia Alarcon and Bertrand de Billy, she sang the solo part in Mozart’s Requiem.
Stéphanie attended classes taught by renowned maestros such as François Leroux, Della Jones, Dame Emma Kirkby, Regina Werner, and Heidi Brunner.
She was among the winners of the 10th Lied & Mélodie Competition of Gordes (France) in 2017 and was awarded grants from the Mosetti Foundation and the Cercle Romand Richard Wagner. Stéphanie is a 2019 recipient of the prestigious Leenaards Foundation grant (CH).
